EPF Breakdown
In the Employees' Provident Fund (EPF), both the employee and employer contribute 12% of the employee's basic salary. Of this, 8.33% is directed to the Employees' Pension Scheme (EPS), while 3.67% goes into the EPF, ensuring financial security for retirement or job transitions.
Ensuring PF Contributions
There have been instances where employers fail to deposit their contributions into employees' PF accounts. Employees can verify if their PF contributions are being deposited by using various available methods.
How To Check PF Balance?
There are several methods to check your PF balance, whether or not you have a Universal Account Number (UAN). You can give a missed call to the mobile number 9966044425 or send an SMS to 7738299899 to receive your balance details.
Alternatively, you can check your balance by logging into the EPFO online portal or by using the UMANG mobile application, both of which offer easy access to your PF information.
Meet These Requirements Before You Check Your EPF Balance
You can check your EPF balance on the EPFO portal only if your UAN is activated and registered. The EPF e-passbook feature will be available six hours after registration on the EPFO portal. It will display the most recent entries reconciled by the EPFO Field Offices.
EPF Passbook
Your EPF balance is updated in the passbook within 24 hours of a contribution. Therefore, you should wait at least 24 hours after the contribution to check your EPF account.
EPF Balance Using Aadhaar Card
You cannot check your EPF balance using your Aadhaar card. To access your balance, you must provide your Universal Account Number (UAN). You have to ensure that your UAN is activated and registered on the EPFO portal for easy access.
Check PF Balance Using Umang App

Step 2: Click on "View Passbook" and enter your UAN number and password.
