New Delhi: In a faux pas, the Union Culture Ministry has highlighted a Chinese built JF-17 fighter jet in a video meant for Independence Day celebrations.
The ministry not just used the wrong jet in the video but it also showed the aircraft flying with the Indian tricolour.
The embarrassment came just days ahead of the Independence Day on August 15.
The Hindu reports that the first part of the video marking “70 years of Independence” includes an animation that shows the Chinese jet flying with the Indian flag.
The video, which was released on Twitter, was replaced with rectified animation sequence after the error was noticed by the public.
The JF-17 Thunder multi-role fighter has been jointly developed by China and Pakistan, the report stated.
