A video has gone viral on Internet-based messaging service WhatsApp showing a Congress leader from Barwani district appealing to Congress president Sonia Gandhi to "oust" Rahul Gandhi for his "dalali" remark at Jantar Mantar at end of his kisan rally last week.

Rahul Gandhi had on Thursday launched a fierce attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi over alleged politicisation of Army's surgical strikes, accusing him of doing "dalali" (trade) over the blood shed by Indian soldiers.

Responding to this, Barwani district Congress organisational secretary Shailesh Choubey has recorded a video which has gone viral on WhatsApp.

In the 1 minute and 26 seconds video, Choubey is seen urging the Congress president to expel Rahul Gandhi before total destruction of the party and settle him into some "business venture", reported The Times of India.

"I, Shailesh Choubey, organisational secretary, district Congress Barwani demand from AICC president Sonia Gandhi that after the unfortunate comment of `khoon ki dalali` by Rahul Gandhi, he should be ousted from the party," the Congress leader said in the video.

He added that Rahul Gandhi displayed good leadership skills by undertaking Kisan Yatra for 30 days. "But on the last day and at the end of the yatra, he used such words the whole country derided him for it," he said.

"He cannot do any good to the party and so should step out of politics, should be ousted and take a career in some good business venture. Those of us who want the Congress and fight against BJP will keep fighting. But this person will defeat us on every front and his leadership is not acceptable to us because he knows no leadership. I demand he be expelled," Choubey said.

Leader of Opposition in Madhya Pradesh Assembly Bala Bachchan has, however, said the video might be doctored.

At the rally last week, Rahul Gandhi made a brief but aggressive speech in which he repeatedly attacked Modi.

Modi, he said, was taking political mileage from the surgical strikes the Army conducted in Pakistani territory and the sacrifices of soldiers in Jammu and Kashmir.

"Unki dalali kar rahe ho... Yeh bilkul ghalat hai... Hindustan ki sena ne Hindustan ka kaam kiya, aap apna kaam keejiye... (You are trading on them. This is totally wrong... The Indian Army did its job for India, you do your work)," he thundered.

The Indian Army carried out surgical strikes on September 29 against terrorist launch pads across the Line of Control in the wake of a terror attack that left 19 soldiers dead in Jammu and Kashmir.
