Lucknow: Old photographs of the family of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was retrieved from the treasury of Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad district on Tuesday.
As per a report in The Times of India, apart from a family portrait, there's a photograph of Netaji's parents, Jankinath Bose and Prabhawati Bose, in the inventory.
Their identities have been confirmed by Shakti Singh, the owner of Ram Bhawan.
Ram Bhawan is the place where Gumnami Baba is said to have spent the final three years of his life, from 1982-85.
Many believe that Gumnami Baba was Netaji living incognito in Faizabad district.
Singh was quoted by TOI as saying - "The family photograph of the Bose family shows 22 members besides his parents."
Singh added that Lalita Bose, the daughter of Netaji's brother Suresh Chandra Bose, had visited Ram Bhawan in Faizabad on February 4, 1986
"She identified the people in the photographs, when these were at Ram Bhawan," Singh said.
Singh said that those standing in the picture (from left to right) in the top row of the photograph are Sudhir Chandra Bose, Satish Chandra Bose, Sarat Chandra Bose, Suresh Chandra Bose, Sunil Chandra Bose and Subhas Chandra Bose, as per the Daily.
Further, Jankinath Bose and Prabhawati Bose are seen sitting with their three daughters in the middle row.
And in the bottom, there are photographs of grandchildren of Jankinath Bose.
The report said that number of telegrams sent to Gumnami Baba by Azad Hind Fauj veterans Pabitra Mohan Roy (senior officer of INA's intelligence wing) and Sunil Kant Gupta on the occasions of Durga Puja and January 23 (Netaji's birthday) were found.
"Gumnami Baba had a habit of making indirect references to people. He referred to Sunil Kant Gupta as Sukriti. Some letters mentioning the sender's name as Mukul and Tripti were also found," Singh said.
Singh, who heads the SC Bose Rashtriya Vichar Kendra in Faizabad, maintains that Baba was not just another sage or saint.
"He was definitely an extraordinary human being," Singh said.
Singh heads the SC Bose Rashtriya Vichar Kendra in Faizabad and is a special invitee to the administrative committee formed by Faizabad district administration for cross-verification of Gumnami Baba's artefacts.
