Guwahati-bound flight has narrow escape

Druk Air Flight KB 140, with 90 passengers onboard, was on its way from Paro in Bhutan to Guwahati airport when it was hit by hailstorm.

Guwahati: The passengers of Druk Air flight from Paro to Guwahati had a narrow escape on Saturday when the aircraft was hit by a hailstorm during its final approach.

Druk Air Flight KB 140, with 90 passengers onboard, was on its way from Paro in Bhutan to Guwahati airport when it was hit by heavy hailstorm over Garo Hills of Meghalaya.

The pilots managed to make a safe landing despite damage to aircraft`s nose and right engine.

The further assessment of damage is currently being done by the aviation experts.
