The 63-year-old leader was admitted to the Medanta Hospital early in the morning and underwent the health check-up. He was later discharged.

"The Home Minister has undergone a routine health check-up. He was discharged from the hospital after the four-hour procedure. He is absolutely fine," a close aide of the Home Minister said.

As it is a week-end and there is relatively less pressure of work, the Home Minister thought it was an opportune time to carry out the health check-up, the aide said.

Singh, a former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, took charge of the Home Ministry when the NDA government assumed charge in May 2014.

The Home Minister had undergone a similar health check-up a few months ago.
