New Delhi: In a statement that will please the Sangh Parivar, Samajwadi Party MP Choudhary Munawwar Saleem has backed the construction of Ram temples in the country.
Speaking at a function, yesterday, Saleem backed the need to build Ram temples and said that no can stop their construction.
“Kaun mai ka lala rok lega, Ram mandir Hindustan main nahi banenge to kahan banenge,” he said.
Hailing from Vidisha in Madhya Pradesh, Saleem was nominated to the Rajya Sabha by SP in 2012.
Recently, party supremo Mulayam Singh Yadav had appointed Saleem as the in-charge of the party in the disctricts of Azamgarh, Hathras and Etah in Uttar Pradesh.
UP BJP president Laxmikant Bajpai welcomed Saleem's statemen but also used the opportunity to take a dig at him.
“He spoke his mind but I want to ask him whether he has consulted Azam Khan before making the statement,” Bajpai said.
