New Delhi: India on Tuesday evacuated all its staff from its embassy in the Yemeni capital of Sanaa, days after wrapping up a massive rescue operation under which over 4,700 Indians were brought home from the war-ravaged country.

"We have evacuated our embassy staff from Yemen today," External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj said.


India had closed down the embassy in Sanaa on April 9 after winding up the air evacuation.


India had also evacuated nearly 1,000 foreign citizens from 41 countries.
