The order, which was uploaded on the website of Ministry of Statistics and Programme Implementation on Wednesday, said that acts of administrative and financial indiscipline had been found on the part of Roy from the records. Necessary disciplinary action may be taken against him.

It said there was justified and reasonable apprehension that Roy may indulge in propagation of indiscipline and mischief till July 31, 2015, before Banerjee takes charge on August one, the order said.

Roy would stand divested of all administrative and financial powers and Banerjee would discharge the duties of the director from June 10, the order said.
