The court was responding to a plea filed by advocate ML Sharma. He filed the plea in light of the revelations by David Headley that Ishrat Jahan was a Lashkar-e-Toiba terrorist.

He also demanded that the cops be compensated.

Sharma had moved the apex court, yesterday, seeking initiation of contempt of court proceedings against former Home Minister P Chidambaram for allegedly filing a ‘false’ affidavit in the Ishrat fake encounter case.

In the PIL, Advocate Sharma said that Chidambaram had committed contempt and perjury by filing a false affidavit.
