New Delhi: Supreme Court on Wednesday asked Delhi Police counsel to speak to Delhi Police Commissioner BS Bassi about the security of Jawaharlal Nehru University Students Union president Kanhaiya Kumar.

The court further stated that if Bassi cannot assure Kumar's security than the it will pass the order.


 


Earlier today, a group of lawyers assaulted journalists outside Patiala House Court. Kanhaiya was also allegedly manhandled by the lawyers outside the courtroom.


 


The Supreme Court in the morning rushed a team of six lawyers with police protection to assess the ground situation in the court, hours after it had issued a series of directions to ensure peace in the court in the wake of Monday's violence.
