The official twitter handle of the Consulate General of Israel in Mumbai shared the information.

"Hon. Chief Minister of Maharashtra @Dev_Fadnavis offered homage to late Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin," it posted.

Rabin was associated with much of the Israeli-Palestinian peace processes and was a co-winner of the 1994 Nobel Peace Prize for his efforts in that direction. He was assassinated by a right-wing radical in 1995, the only Israeli prime minister to be killed in office.
