Kolkata: Hours after being detained at railway station, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MPs SS Ahluwalia, BD Ram and Bhupender Yadav , who part of the party's three-member fact finding team for the Malda riots, are now going to Kolkata after being stopped from entering Kaliachak in the district on Friday.
The delegation members were held at railway station on Monday morning as soon as they reached here.
The team was supposed to visit Kaliachak , the centre point of communal violence last week, and submit a report the party high command about the ground situation.
BJP has set up a three-member fact-finding team to visit Malda district where communal violence had erupted last week following the alleged blasphemous comments by a right wing leader.
Assembly elections in West Bengal will be held this year.
Union Home minister Rajnath Singh is likely to visit Malda district on the 18th of this month.
On January 3, a mob protesting against the alleged blasphemous comments by a right wing leader had resorted to violence in Malda district during which a police station was also attacked.
