Mann ki Baat: PM Modi to address people today through his radio programme
PM Modi will address the country on Sunday with a fresh episode of `Mann ki Baat`.
Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will address the country on Sunday with a fresh episode of 'Mann ki Baat'.
The PM posted on Twitter: "Looking forward interacting with you through the radio."
On Tuesday PM Modi had invited people to record their voice messages, some of which he had said would be part of today's radio programme.
He had asked people to dial 1800-3000-7800 and share their messages.
The PM had posted on micro-blogging site Twitter: “Your voice on Mann Ki Baat. Dial 1800-3000-7800 and share your message. Some of them will be a part of the programme this Sunday.”
Earlier sources in Election Commission had said that it had not found any violation of model code in PM Modi's previous episode of the programme in September.
The sources, however, had also said that the Prime Minister should avoid referring to the Bihar elections or make political statements in the programme as the state is going through Assembly polls and it would be a violation of the model code, as per PTI.
The Election Commission had in September given the go-ahead to the airing of Modi's 'Mann ki Baat' programme on September 20 provided nothing is said that may be construed as inducement to voters or having an impact on poll-bound Bihar where model code of conduct is in force.
Representatives of the 'grand alliance,' including RJD and JD(U), had approached the EC seeking suspension of the programme till Bihar polls were in progress, raising doubts that it might be used it to influence voters.
The programme was aired even during Haryana, Maharashtra and Delhi Assembly polls.
