An indication came when Mayawati expelled a core cadre leader for making objectionable remarks against Brahmins.

BSP leader Sanjay Bharti (a Dalit) had allegedly posted some remarks against Brahmins on his facebook account.

This came to the notice of BSP top leadership and Mayawati ordered expulsion of Sanjay Bharti from the party, according to a report in ET.

However, Bharti says that he did not make any comments against Brahmins or any other caste.

"My Facebook account was hacked; somebody might have posted those comments," Bharti alleged.

"Some BSP leaders had hatched a conspiracy to defame me," Bharti added.

Sanjay Bharti was appointed as the President of Salempur Vidhan Sabha constituency. Bharti has been associated with the BSP since its inception.
