"On Djibouti`s Independence Day, I convey my greetings and best wishes to the people of Djibouti," Modi said.

He said that India remains grateful to Djibouti for their strong support and active cooperation to evacuate a large number of Indian nationals as well as nationals of other countries from strife-torn Yemen.

"It indicates the robustness of our ties," the Prime Minister said.

Djibouti, an African country, gained independence from France on June 27, 1977.
