New Delhi: More trouble is brewing for the Aam Aadmi Party MLA Amanatullah Khan.

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday registered a case against Khan in connection with an alleged recruitment scam in the Delhi Waqf Board.

The AAP MLA was also in news in September as he was arrested in connection with a sexual harassment case filed by his relative. Again in October, his supporters and he faced FIR in October for allegedly threatening a crowd protesting over civic problems in his constituency in Okhla.

Earlier in October, Lieutenant Governor Najeeb Jung had said that reconstitution of the Delhi Waqf Board and the appointment of its chairman and its CEO is‘illegal and void ab initio’.

Khan was appointed as the Chairman of the Wakf Board, while retired IPS officer Mehboob Alam had been appointed its CEO.

Both appointments were struck down by the LG “for not having obtained the approval of the competent authority”, become the bone of contention between AAP and the LG Jung.
