New Delhi:  President Pranab Mukherjee, Vice President Hamid Ansari and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi on Monday paid tribute to country's first Prime Minister Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his 127th birth anniversary.

Former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh along with Rahul Gandhi offered floral tributes at Shanti Vana - the memorial of Nehru on the banks of river Yamuna.



Pt. Nehru was born Nov 14, 1889.


He was the first Prime Minister of the India and remained in office until his death in 1964. 


Prime Minister Narendra Modi took to Twitter to pay his tributes. "Tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru on his birth anniversary," his tweet read.
