According to aajtak.in, Prime Minister Narendra Modi may attend the event.

Last year, Modi had joined yoga enthusiasts at Rajpath in New Delhi, performing different asanas for a good 35 minutes. This time the event is most likely to be held in Chandigarh.

The Centre has reportedly sent formal directions to the UT administration to hold the event and the Union Ministry of Ayush is likely to oversee preparations for it.

However, no conformation has come from the central government and the UT administration in this regard.
