"I have many friends in Arunachal Pradesh who have confirmed that Doval played a role in toppling the Congress government there," Upadhyay alleged at a press conference here.

"In Uttarakhand also I have information that he did the same thing. 3-4 MLAs out of the nine who sided with the BJP in Uttarakhand Assembly were in touch with Doval," he alleged.

He said the NSA should concentrate on his job, which is basically securing the country's frontiers and stop playing a role in toppling opposition governments in the states.

Upadhyay said think tank Vivekanand Foundation, headed by Doval, was "acquiring political dimensions".

He said its functioning should be probed and, if found guilty of being involved in toppling governments, its registration should be cancelled.
