This was made possible because of historic demonetisation move by PM Narendra Modi.

Taking the nation by surprise, PM Narendra Modi on Nov 8 had announced the demonetisation of Rs 1000 and Rs 500

notes, making these notes invalid in a major assault on black money, fake currency and corruption.

This move showed its positive impact on incidents of stone-pelting in Kashmir.

The stone-pelting incidents have been reduced drastically in unrest-hit Kashmir after the demonetisation move.

How is Kashmir seeing a sharp decline in stone-pelting cases?

According to police, no incidents of stone-pelting were reported from anywhere in the past few days.

Officials say a major reason behind the sudden decline in violence was that the “money channels” of inciting violence have

been sealed, according to a report in Deccan Herald.

After the Rs 500 and Rs 1000 were banned, the business of stone- pelting is almost over, a police official said.

Experts say that Kashmir will remain largely calm in the coming days as miscreants will run short of money from Pakistan.

Reportedly, Pakistan was pumping in money into Kashmir through various hawala channels to create unrest and violence in

the Valley.

After PM Narendra Modi's demonetisation move, the Pakistan-backed Kashmiri separatists are clueless, their funders are

speechless and as eventually the stone-pelters are jobless. And, finally, peace returned to Kashmir.
