Singapore: Prime Minister Narendra Modi today called on Singapore President Tony Tan Keng Yam and was accorded a ceremonial welcome on the second day of his visit to the country.

Modi, who arrived here last evening and addressed the prestigious Singapore Lecture, also held a breakfast meeting with prominent citizens of Singapore today.


Later in the day, he met President Yam, who had visited India earlier this year. Modi is also scheduled to meet Singapore Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong and other top leaders later in the day.


Besides, he will pay homage at Indian National Army (INA) Memorial Marker and deliver a special address at the India-Singapore Economic Convention.


In the evening, he will meet Singapore-based investors and address a gathering of Indian community here, before leaving for India.
