PM Modi pays tribute to former Odisha CM Biju Patnaik on his birth anniversary

Biju Patnaik was the chief minister of Odisha for two terms.

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday paid his tribute to late Bijayananda Patnaik, former Chief Minister of Odisha, on the occasion of his birth anniversary.

“Biju Babu was a man of the masses & a visionary who devoted his life to serving society. I pay my tributes to him on his birth anniversary”, tweets Modi on his Twitter account.

Born on 5 March 1916, Bijayananda Patnaik, popularly known as Biju Patnaik or Biju Babu, was the chief minister of Odisha for two terms.

Meanwhile, the ruling Biju Janata Dal (BJD) government and many social and non-government organisations in the state are celebrating Biju Patnaik’s birth centenary year starting today, March 5.
