New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will on Sunday address the valedictory session of National Conference of Women Legislators here.

The conference, hosted by Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra mahajan , is being attended by former President Pratibha Patil, Union ministers Sushma Swaraj, Najma Heptullah and Maneka Gandhi, Gujarat CM Anandiben Patel, former Delhi CM Sheila Dikshit, Congress president Sonia Gandhi, among others.


President Pranab Mukherjee had yesterday pitched in for a revival of the Constitution (108th Amendment) Bill, aimed at giving 33 per cent reservation to women in Lok Sabha and state assemblies.


"How can there be empowerment of women without proper representation," he said.


The President also lauded Prime Minister Modi for the "Beti bachao, beti padhao" initiative.


"The PM is giving more than an hour (to the inaugural function where he was not even scheduled to speak) without participating in it; that shows his total commitment," he said.
