Parliamentary Affairs Minister Ananth Kumar  told media that PM Modi thanked people for their support to demonetisation and asked the MPs to encourage them to go for cashless economy.

"He (Modi) said the way people are informed about EVMs during elections, a similar approach should be adopted for encouraging people to go for digital and cashless economy," Ananth Kumar added.

Kumar said the BJP Parliamentary Party passed a resolution hailing people for supporting the demonetisation of 500 and 1,000 rupee notes that has caused a widespread cash crunch.
