Modi's plane Air India One touched down at the Charles de Gaulle airport.

After France, the PM will be heading to Germany and Canada.

The tour will focus on boosting trade and economic ties, including in defence and railways.

Modi earlier said his eight-day visit was focused on supporting India's national economic agenda, especially job creation for the youth.

In France, Modi will hold two back-to-back round-tables with top French CEOs -- one focused on infrastructure and the other on defence technology.

The Indian embassy and PMO tweeted about the PM's arrival.
