During the two-day visit, Mukherjee held talks with the top Bhutanese leadership including King Jigme Khesar Namgyel Wangchuck and Prime Minister Tshering Tobgay, covering the entire gamut of bilateral relations between the two neighbours.

Earlier today, Mukherjee termed his visit to Bhutan as very successful and his "most memorable", as he expressed hope that bilateral relations between the two countries would continue to grow from strength to strength.

The president was given a warm send-off at the Paro airport by the Bhutanese King and his wife, as he departed after his visit, the first by an Indian head of state to the Himalayan kingdom in 26 years.
