President Pranab Mukherjee condoles loss of lives in Jhabua blast

New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee has condoled the loss of lives in an explosion that occurred yesterday in Jhabua District of Madhya Pradesh.

In a message to Madhya Pradesh Governor Ram Naresh Yadav, the President has said "I am sad to know about the gas cylinder explosion this morning in Jhabua District in which a large number of persons have lost their lives and many others are injured."

"I call upon authorities to provide all possible aid to the bereaved families as well as medical assistance to the injured. I am sure necessary measures will be taken to investigate the cause of the incident and put in place remedial measures," he added.

President Mukherjee further said, "Please convey my heartfelt condolences to the families of the deceased. I wish speedy recovery to the injured persons".

The death toll in the blast has reached 89 and around 100 people have been injured in the accident.
