Ranchi: Jharkhand government today decided to purchase clothing materials for schools from JHARCRAFT, the state's textile body, aimed at aiding weavers.

Asking to put an end to floating tenders to purchase uniform, blankets and bed sheets for schools, Chief Minister Raghubar Das issued orders to purchase the clothing materials from


JHARCRAFT (Jharkhand Silk Textile & Handicraft Development Corporation Ltd.), an official release said here.


Reviewing development works, Das also reminded the officials concerned that five lakh dobha (small ponds) to be dug up by March next year and one lakh by June 15 this year as part of the state's water conservation efforts.


The CM also ordered that instead of using the services of NGOs in the construction of toilets, money be transferred to the accounts of the beneficiaries in two installments.


He also asked the officials concerned to ensure electricity supply to Panchayat Bhawans, Anganwadi Centres and schools in the next three months.
