During her visit to her constituency - Rae Bareli and Rahul Gandhi's seat – Amethi, questions regarding the Congress party scion's whereabouts were posed before her, and she responded, saying, "When Rahul will come back he will also visit Amethi."

ANI reported that when she was asked that Amethi had been expecting its elected Member of Parliament (MP) Rahul Gandhi, she said, "It doesn’t make any difference whether it’s Rahul or me."

The Congress president was in aforementioned areas of Uttar Pradesh to meet the farmers who suffered losses due to untimely rains.

She also visited the families of the victims of the recent Bachrawan train accident and assured them of all possible assistance.

"I think farmers are going to get some relief," she said after talking to those affected by unseasonal rains in Amethi.

Following the Congress party's dismal showing in the Delhi assembly elections in February, Rahul Gandhi took a 'leave of absence' from active politics to 'reflect on recent events' and the 'future course' of the party right before the Parliament's Budget session.

Later, the Congress announced that he had extended his leave.
