New Delhi: Right wing outfits, including VHP and Bajrang Dal, today protested outside the Banga Bhawan here against the violence in Malda.
The demonstrators climbed over police barricades and shouted slogans against West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee.
Karuna Prakash of VHP condemned the incident and sought Centre's intervention in the matter. He sought urgent action against the guilty and said his organisation will hold more demonstrations across the country against the incident.
Violence had broken out at Kaliachak in Malda on December 3 over an alleged remark of a right wing leader, following which protesters had set fire to a police station and damaged vehicles.
