There have been many speculations so far, that have zeroed in on 'a call from Meerut' that tipped off Mumbai police about the murder, triggering Indrani's arrest.

Now, a report in the Quint claims that it was Sheena's close friend from school, who might have been the secret informer who called police.

The report adds that the call from Meerut was traced to Sheena's school friend's husband, who himself works with the government's sensitive wing.

Sheena is said to have been very close to her friend, who studied with her till class X in Guawahati's Disneyland school.

Just five months before being killed, Sheena had attended her friend's wedding in Guwahati and reportedly divulged her secrets, including her plans to get married to ex-Star India CEO Peter Mukerjea's son Rahul in the same year, that is, 2012.

Sheena's friend and her husband both had visited her in Mumbai just two months befiore she was murdered.

The Quint report adds that Sheena had continued to be in touch with her friend even after she moved to Mumbai. But after Sheena stopped communicating with her, her friend feared that she was missing and might have been killed.

Earlier, there were speculations that Indrani's first husband Siddhartha Das might have tipped Mumbai police as there were reports of his fleeing to Bangladesh.

But Das appeared today with significant revelations that he was the biological father of Mikhail and Sheena.

Kolkata-based Das added that he had never married Indrani and and said "she should be hanged" if she had committed the murder.
