Here is the video of the students being brutally beaten up J&K Police; it's going viral on social media. The video was uploaded on YouTube by a used named 'nit srinagar'.

CRPF was deployed at NIT campus in Srinagar on Tuesday night as students from other states studying there expressed a sense of insecurity.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Tuesday called up Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and discussed with her the situation at NIT in Srinagar.

The Home Minister's telephonic talk came after a minor scuffle broke out between police and some outstation students in the NIT campus.

The clash initially began after two group of students, one from Kashmir and one from other states, fought after local students burst crackers following India's defeat against West Indies in the World T20 semifinal last Thursday.
