New Delhi: External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj met her visiting Mexican counterpart Jose Antonio Meade Kuribrena , here at Jawaharlal Nehru Bhavan on Wednesday.

The two leaders shook hands and exchanged pleasantries before they headed for Joint Commission meeting pertaining to mutual interest of both countries. The two countries are also expected to sign bilateral agreements/Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) following the meeting.


Yesterday, Kuribrena also met National Security Advisor Ajit Doval to discuss issues of bilateral interest.


Mexico is India's leading trade partner in Latin America. The bilateral trade volume was USD 4.15 billion in 2011, which has the potential to go upto USD 10 billion by 2015, say reports.
