New Delhi: After the CBI, the Enforcement Directorate is speeding up its probe into alleged money laundering in the AugustaWestland VVIP chopper deal.
The ED is likely to question former IAF chief SP Tyagi on May 5. His cousin brothers Sanjeev, Rajeev and Sandeep will be grilled the next day.
The development comes at a time when SP Tyagi is being examined by the CBI over alleged corruption in the Rs 3,600 crore deal.
The VVIP chopper deal shot into the limelight again after an Italian court gave details of how alleged bribes were paid by helicopter-maker Finmeccanica and AgustaWestland to Indian officials through middlemen to secure the deal.
The CBI had earlier registered a case against Tyagi and 13 others - including his cousins – in the case.
