New Delhi: A man, alleged to be an interstate gangster and wanted in over 10 cases of murder, attempt to murder and robbery including a sensational honour killing case of 2008, has been arrested, police said on Friday.

Identified as Varun Dev Tyagi alias Tarun Dev Tyagi alias Sonu Tyagi, was arrested last night from Om Vihar locality in Uttam Nagar area after laying a trap following a tip off about him hiding there, Additional Commissioner of Police (Crime) Ashok Chand said.


Tyagi, who was involved in more than 10 cases of murder, attempt to murder, robbery and Arms Act, and his associate had abducted one Satish @ Kale Sindhi from Burari and murdered him before disposing off his dead body in the area of Hapur in Uttar Pradesh, Chand said.


During interrogation, Tyagi confessed that he was a property dealer by profession and had enmity with Satish because of which he killed Satish.
