New Delhi: Unable to control his emotions when asked about his mother's contribution in his life, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday broke down in tears while saying that mothers in India sacrifice their entire lives for their children.

Addressing the Q&A session with Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg, PM Modi said, “You can imagine what a mother had to do to raise her children. It's not just the case with Narendra Modi, many mothers in India sacrifice their entire lives for their children,” said teary-eyed Modi.

“My mother is not educated, but through TV she knows what's happening around World. When we were young, we used to do the neighbour’s dishes. My parents played a very big role in my life,I come from a poor family,you probably know that I used to sell tea at railway station,” he further added.


PM Modi also congratulated Zuckerberg's parents for having him as a child.


“I want to congratulate Mark's parents for having given birth to such a wonderful person, please stand up,” he said while lauding Zuckerberg's parents.
