`Will counter militants` attempts to provoke Kashmiri youths`
Security forces are working to counter attempts to provoke Kashmiri youths into taking up gun and will make efforts to bring them back into the mainstream, CRPF said on Saturday.
Srinagar: Security forces are working to counter attempts to provoke Kashmiri youths into taking up gun and will make efforts to bring them back into the mainstream, CRPF said on Saturday.
"There will be attempts to provoke the youth but we will continue to try to get them into mainstream," K Durga Prasad, Director General, CRPF, said.
He said the force and other security agencies are working together to tackle the problem of militancy in the state.
"We are working hand-in-hand with J&K police and we will control this problem," Prasad said.
He promised strong action against those crossing the Line of Control (LoC) and trying to disturb the unity of the country.
"J&K police and CRPF are working together. We are gathering intelligence and everything is going on well. We had some successful operations this month as well.
"We will find all foreign militants and terminate those who want to disturb the unity of India," the CRPF DG said responding to a question about the increasing number of encounters involving foreign militants in the past few months.
Earlier, Prasad reviewed the passing out parade of 514 cadets of 96 and 97 batch of the paramilitary force at Recruit Training Centre (RTC) at Humhama here.
Since its inception in 1990, the RTC has trained 22,179 recruits by imparting intensive training on subjects concerned besides conditioning them to operate in different internal security situations.
