One protester was killed today as the security forces fired on the mob in Awantipora and Pulwama area.


The death toll in the clashes between protesters and security, which erupted following the killing of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani in an encounter on July 8, has climbed to 45.


Meanwhile, curfew and separatists-called protest shutdown marred life across the Valley for the 14th day running on Friday.


Mobile telephony and mobile internet services remained suspended for the 14th day today.


J&K Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti on Thursday visited bereaved families in south Kashmir Anantnag district whose members have been killed in the ongoing violence that has claimed 45 lives.


Mufti also chaired an all party meeting held in Srinagar on Thusrday. The regional National Conference (NC) boycotted the meeting while the Congress, CPI M and Democratic Party Nationalist (DPN) attended it.
