New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated BJP workers and the people of Bengaluru for the party's victory in the Bruhat Bengaluru Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) elections held last week.

Out of the total 197 seats that went to polls on Saturday, BJP won 100 wards followed by the Congress with 75 wins. JD(S) secured 14 seats while Others including Independents won eight.

Writing on Twitter, PM Modi said, “Thank you Bengaluru! My gratitude to people & congratulations to Karnataka BJP leaders & workers for the great BBMP election results (sic).”


PM Modi underlined that the Bengaluru civic poll win was a hat-trick for the BJP after victories in Madhya Pradesh and Rajasthan.


He also sought to underline that his government was “fully committed to fulfilling aspirations of 125 crore Indians”.
