The announcement comes after the BDJS formally joined the ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA).

BDJS was floated by Sree Narayana Dharma Paripalana Yogam, a social organisation, in December last year. The organisation works for the backward Ezhava community and aims "to ensure equal rights and justice for all".

SNDP has been warming up to Kerala BJP since the recently held civic polls, which saw the saffron party improving its position.

The BJP and SNDP tie-up came after a series of meeting between the leaders of the two sides.
