After raising MLAs` development fund, Madhya Pradesh govt hikes salaries of legislators
After hiking the MLAs development funds earlier this month, Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has raised the salaries of the legislators from Rs 71,000 to Rs 1,10,000 per month.
Bhopal: After hiking the MLAs development funds earlier this month, Madhya Pradesh Cabinet has raised the salaries of the legislators from Rs 71,000 to Rs 1,10,000 per month.
The Chief Minister's salary has been hiked from Rs 1.43 lakh to Rs 2 lakh per month.
The MLAs who are also Cabinet ministers will now get Rs 1.50 lakh per month. Earlier it used to be Rs 1.3 lakh.
Earlier this month, Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan had announced that the MLA development funds have been raised to Rs two crore from the current Rs 80 lakh, for the overall development of the state.
"To ensure participation of all members of the House in the state for development of their areas, let's raise the local area MLA development fund to Rs two crore," Chouhan had told the state Assembly.
