The Congress should stop lying about Rahul's whereabouts and tell the truth to the country, the BJP said.

"For the last three days, the Congress is misleading the country over Gandhi's whereabouts. The Congress has claimed that he is travelling to Aspen in the US to attend a conference known as 'Weekend with Charlie Rose'. But we have got to know that the said conference was over in July," BJP spokesperson GVL Narasimha Rao told reporters here.

"No one by the name of Rahul Gandhi attended the programme nor is there any (such) information," Rao said quoting one Peterson from Aspen.

"Why is the Congress hiding the facts? They must stop lying and tell the truth to the country. We expect the Congress to come out with the truth and not mislead the country on Rahul's whereabouts," the BJP leader said.

The Congress, in a written statement issued on Wednesday, said that Gandhi was travelling to Aspen in the United States on a short visit to attend a conference.
