As per a report published in the Mumbai Mirror, traffic police will set up at least 200 digital billboards with real-time traffic updates collected through the CCTV cameras installed across the city to ease congestion on city roads.

Through these digital billboards, the traffic department will share incidents affecting road traffic flow, travel time, speed limit etc with commuters.

The Mumbai traffic department has planned to put up 200 multi-colour digital hoardings (variable messaging system sign boards) in a span of one year.

The digital hoardings will not only display traffic messages but will also provide information on the latest traffic situation on roads and the time required to reach important destinations like the airport, railway stations and other locations of the city.

The department is confident that the introduction of this system will lead to perceptible changes in the Mumbai city - what do you say.
