New Delhi: Defence Minister AK Antony on Tuesday reviewed the security situation in and around the country with the top security brass including the three Services chiefs. National Security Adviser Shivshankar Menon, Defence Secretary R K Mathur along with the three Services chiefs were present in the meeting, Defence Ministry officials said. The meeting, which comes a day after the India-China defence dialogue, is also understood to have discussed measures to improve infrastructure along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China. Recently, a Parliamentary panel had pulled up the Defence Ministry for the lack of infrastructure along the disputed boundary with China. In the report, the IAF had also expressed its opinion that it would be difficult to tackle a combined threat from China and Pakistan but it was prepared for any such challenge. The meeting is also understood to have discussed the security situation in Jammu and Kashmir where seven terrorists were killed yesterday in an encounter with security forces. Forces deployed there fear that there might be an increase in infiltration attempts and incidents in the near future with the onset of summer.
