Will ensure defeat of Sonia Gandhi in Lok Sabha polls: Baba Ramdev
Baba Ramdev has vowed to ensure the defeat of Sonia Gandhi in the next Lok Sabha election by camping and campaigning against her in Rae Bareli.
Lucknow: Baba Ramdev has vowed to ensure the defeat of Congress president Sonia Gandhi in the next Lok Sabha election by camping and campaigning against her in Rae Bareli.
The yoga guru also lashed out at her son Rahul Gandhi, saying the Congress vice president had no direction or vision.
"Whenever there is a major crisis (in) the country, Rahul hides himself," Ramdev said here Wednesday. He called the Congress-led United Progressive Alliance the "most corrupt government" India has seen since independence in 1947.
The Congress, he said, had plundered the coffers of India more than the British colonial rulers.
Addressing the Swabhiman Trust, he said he would decide on fielding candidates for the 2014 Lok Sabha polls and extending support to the BJP only after going through the latter`s election manifesto. The Haridwar-based Ramdev admitted he was a supporter of Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi because he (Modi) had a proven track record of good governance.
"Not only me, millions in the country are impressed by Modi," he said.
