Will Priyanka Gandhi contest 2014 General Elections?
It seems that questions about Priyanka joining politics and contesting polls is not going to go away in a hurry.

New Delhi: The Allahabad Congress committee passed a resolution on Tuesday asking Priyanka Gandhi Vadra to join active politics and to contest elections from Phulpur, India`s first Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru`s constituency. UP Congress member Abhay Awasthi said that it was a unanimous decision that Priyanka should contest from the seat.
However, this is not the first time that certain sections of the Congress have expressed the desire that Sonia Gandhi`s daughter enter the electoral arena, campaign nationally for the party and contest elections. In fact, some Congress leaders have said on record that Priyanka had an inherent charisma in her and she reminded them of her grandmother Indira Gandhi. Speculation was also rife recently that Priyanka would campaign nationally for the Congress in the 2104 Lok Sabha polls and not just limit her role to her family`s bastion in Uttar Pradesh. But the Congress out-rightly denied the reports. Congress spokesperson Ajay Maken told the media that the rumours had been spread by the Opposition. On her part, Priyanka has always denied that she would join active politics. However, as and when required, she has been by the side of Congress president Sonia Gandhi and her brother and Congress vice president Rahul Gandhi. She has been visiting Amethi and Rae Bareli regularly, overlooking organisational issues there and had campaigned for the party in Bellary during the 1999 General Elections.
Then again last year Priyanka dismissed reports that she would contest the 2014 Lok Sabha polls from Rae Bareli, which is Sonia`s constituency and told a news channel that she was not joining politics and was just looking after her mother`s constituency.
