The app, which is being reportedly developed by Facebook's "friend-sharing" team in London, is in its early stages and may never come to fruition.

The idea of the app is to increase user engagement while allowing its 1.6 billion users to create, and share, more photos and videos. It will also enable users to share live streamed video back to Facebook, according to the report.

The company is also reportedly planning a feature that allows a user to record video through the app to begin live streaming.

Meanwhile, Facebook declined to comment on the report.
