Facebook`s `Messenger Requests` will let you chat with anyone!
The new feature called `Message Requests` allows people to connect with anyone via chat.
Washington: Facebook is rolling out a new feature for Messenger that enables users to contact unknown people without having their phone numbers.
The new feature called 'Message Requests' allows people to connect with anyone via chat.
Message Requests replaces the 'Other Folder' of the Facebook inbox where messages sent by strangers were kept (and usually remained undiscovered).
With this new feature, users can read the message and choose whether or not they want to respond without the sender knowing.
Announcing the new feature, Facebook's David Marcus said in post, “Forget phone numbers! Today, we're excited to start rolling out Message Requests for Messenger. Now, the only thing you need to talk to virtually anyone in the world is their name.”
Marcus also confirmed that Facebook is retiring the dated “Other Folder” that was only accessible via the Web.
The rule is pretty simple, all someone needs is your name in order to contact you, where you have control over whether they can contact you.
