New Facebook colour changing app virus affects 10,000 users
A new Facebook spam, allegedly offering users to change the colour scheme of their FB profile has resurfaced.

New Delhi: A new Facebook spam, allegedly offering users to change the colour scheme of their FB profile has resurfaced.
The colour changing app called the `Facebook colour changer` offers nine different colours for the profile background. As per reports, the latest scam has already affected over 10,000 users around the world.
When the users log-in to their accounts, they receive a pop up of an app advertisment that tells Facebook users they can change the colour theme of their profile. Once, a user downloads it, he/she is directed to a malicious phishing site. The website targets users by stealing their Facebook Access Tokens by asking them to view a colour changer tutorial video.
Temporary access to the tokens allows hackers to connect to the user`s Facebook friends.
If a user does not view the video, the website tries to get them to download the malicious application.
